Description | During the initial stage of the department’s establishment, all undergraduate students had to undertake the same study programmes and specialise by choosing elective courses during their third and fourth year of study. Nevertheless, starting from year 1996, with the advancement of electrical and electronic technology which demands specialisation tasks for engineers, few study programmes have been offered. Currently, PKE offers study programme which are: • Electrical and Electronic Engineering By offering this program, students can choose their field of specialisation during their third and fourth year of study. This is expected to enhance the quality of potential engineers that are produced. In year 2020, the syllabus of the study programme has been changed to fulfill the requirements of the Board of Engineers so that graduates from this programme would be recognised as engineers in the field of electrical and electronic engineering. This newly devel- oped program has included more courses related to electrical discipline. Students can select their field of interest from microelectronic, computer, control & power and communication in year 3 and 4. In general, all the programmes in the department have been well received by the industry and employ¬ers. This achievement should inspire students to continue in pursuing success. |
