| Description | The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering is inspired to produce graduates in various fields of knowledge and expertise in tandem with the national development policy. The programme is comprehensively designed with an emphasis on practical application that would enable students to apply new knowledge in the real-world and carry out extensive technology development and consultancy. The programme which combined with a large suite of continuing professional development courses are dedicated to carry focused research across a wide range of mechanical engineering subjects and to meet the needs of society and industry. It is a research degree by thesis under the supervision of experienced members of academic staff or a supervisory panel. The progress of a research student is monitored and assessed by the supervisor at the end of each semester. Final assessment is made through the thesis prepared by the student with an oral examination. A student who has satisfied the Examination Committee in all aspects of their research work is eligible for the award of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree. Students may explore in a wide research areas including Mechanics, Manufacturing, Materials, Thermofluids and Aeronautics. |
