| Entry Requirements | The minimum qualifications for admission to academic programs are as follows: i. Bachelor's Degree in Dakwah/ Usuluddin/ Syariah/ Islamic Studies/ Islamic Education/ Social Science Studies with a minor specializing in Islamic Studies with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent accepted by the Senate; Or ii. Bachelor's Degree in Dakwah Studies/ Usuluddin/ Syariah/ Islamic Studies/ Islamic Education/ Social Science Studies with a minor specialization in Islamic Studies with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not exceeding 2.74 is acceptable subject to special assessment by the Faculty Or iii. Bachelor's Degree in Dakwah/ Usuluddin/ Syariah/ Islamic Studies/ Islamic Education/ Social Science Studies with a minor specializing in Islamic Studies with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not exceeding 2.49 is acceptable subject to the following criteria: A. Have at least five (5) years of work experience in a related field; B. Pass the special assessment of the Faculty Or iv. Candidates who do not have a Bachelor's Degree in Dakwah/ Usuluddin/ Syariah/ Islamic Studies/ Islamic Education/ Social Science Studies with a minor specialization in Islamic Studies or do not have work experience in a related field MUST ATTEND AND PASS the prerequisite course prescribed by Faculty and achieve a minimum CGPA subject to (i) to (iii). |
| English Requirement | Non-citizen applicants who obtain their degree from a university or institution of higher learning that does not use English as the medium of instruction for the degree who wish to pursue a degree program and/or write their dissertation in English are required to meet the English competency requirements set by the University such as paragraph below. Non-citizen applicants wishing to pursue a Master's Degree program (other than certain programs in the Faculty of Languages & Linguistics and all programs in the Faculty of Medicine) must obtain at least the following results in one of the English proficiency examinations listed below: i. Minimum score of 550 for paper-based total (PBT), score of 213 for computer-based total (CBT), or score of 80 for internet-based total (iBT) for Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); ii. Minimum band 5.5 for International English Language Testing System (IELTS) (Academic); iii. Scores according to the respective program standards if higher than (i) and (ii); iv. For any program standard that places a TOEFL or IELTS (Academic) score lower than the University's minimum score, such programs shall follow the minimum score set by the University; v. Minimum score 42 Pearson Test of Academic English (PTE Academic); vi. Minimum grade C for English subjects General Certificate of Education (A-Level); vii. Minimum grade C Cambridge English: First (FCE); viii. Minimum grade C Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE); ix. Minimum grade C Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE); or x. Minimum band 4 Malaysian University English Test (MUET). Notwithstanding anything provided above, subject to the approval of the Senate and based on the requirements of the Master's Degree program, the Faculty may consider English language qualifications/ competencies other than those specified in paragraph (1) above. Non-citizen applicants with the following backgrounds are exempted from the prescribed English language qualification requirements: (a) originates from a country that uses English as the National Language; (b) use the academic qualifications of an institution that uses English as the medium of instruction entirely; or (d) has studied in Malaysia and intends to further his studies to a higher level subject to condition (b). |
