Description | Master of Medical Parasitology and Entomology Programme is developed to make the Department of Parasitology, Universiti Malaya (UM) as a centre for teaching and research in the field of parasitology and entomology, at the same time the referral centre in parasitic diseases at the national and international level. Development in the field of medical science is rapidly happening in order to bring improvements in the control and elimination of life-threatening infectious diseases. This necessitates the development of this programme to share the latest knowledge and techniques, in hope that the graduates from the programme would be able to contribute and provide scientific solutions to the wellbeing of community and society. This programme involves in two important fields, medical parasitology and medical entomology, that are highly associated in many aspects and would be able to give a greater depth of understanding in tropical diseases. |

Entry Requirements | Bachelor’s degree with Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 3.00 or equivalent; or Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery or Bachelor of Dental Surgery or equivalent medical qualification; or Bachelor’s degree with CGPA of 2.70 up to 2.99 can be considered if one (1) and CGPA of 2.50 up to 2.69 can be considered if two (2) of the following criteria is fulfilled; Having at least one (1) year working experience in related field; or Having publications in related field; or Is a recipient of a scholarship; or A graduate of the University of Malaya; or Is a government servant; or Passed the interview by the faculty; or Passed the entrance assessment by the faculty Bachelor’s degree with CGPA of 2.00 up to 2.49 can be considered if passed the interview by the faculty and fulfilled one (1) of the following criteria within 13(IV)(a) to (c) below; Having at least five (5) years working experience in related field; or Have at least one (1) publication related field; or Passed the entrance assessment by the faculty |
