| Description | This program provides students with the opportunity to experience the research process to instil the passion for discovery and to acquire research skills and deepen their knowledge in an area of science. The aim of this program is to provide professional development of students, providing experience in problem definition, hypothesis formulation and testing, data acquisition, analysis and interpretation, and project presentation. Students work under the guidance of a supervisor who is a full-time academic staff member of the faculty. Students are examined through the presentation of a thesis, and may be required to take prescribed subjects in research methodology or any other subject deemed necessary by their principal supervisor. Students are suggested to undertake extra activities in consultation with their supervisor to enhance and develop their skills as a researcher, where these activities are documented each year in the form of a study plan. The work undertaken for this program must constitute a significant contribution to the knowledge and understanding of a field of study of direct concern to the faculty and demonstrate student’s capacity to carry out independent research. |

| Entry Requirements | Bachelor’s Degree by obtaining a good Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) from a University or any institution of higher learning recognized by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and/ or having accreditation recognized by a foreign Accreditation Body, or institution who has accreditation as prescribed by a programme; Doctor of Medicine degree or Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University or any institution of higher learning or an equivalent degree from any institutions of higher learning recognised by the Senate; any other qualification recognised by the Senate obtained through the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL); fulfils other requirements prescribed by the programme (if applicable) and fulfils requirements of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) |
| English Requirement | a) Obtained TOEFL (550), IELTS(6) or MUET (4) results which fulfil the score or minimum band requirements prescribed by the programme; or b) For certain programmes, a candidate is required to sit for an English Proficiency Test (EPT) and if he/she fails to achieve the level specified by the programme, the candidate is required to attend and pass the English Proficiency Module (EPM) in a maximum period of two (2) semesters before he is allowed to register for the study programme. The candidate shall register as a Non Graduating Student. |
