| Description | The medical course comprises a preclinical phase (2 years) of basic medical sciences, an intermediate stage of junior clinical clerkship (1 year) followed by senior medical clerkship (2 years). Problem solving, methods of inquiry, critical thinking and independent learning strategies are emphasized. At the end of the course, students are expected to graduate with competencies in the relevant areas of knowledge and clinical skills, apart from leadership and communication skills pertaining to working with other healthcare professionals. The course also equips graduates with life-long learning and medical research capabilities via a special research module. Personal and professional development modules spanning the duration of the 5-year program equips learners with important soft skills, awareness of medical ethics and a sense of social responsibility. Our aim is to produce well-rounded medical professionals who are able to serve society in challenging and varied work environments and who are well-positioned for further postgraduate training. Students are supported by a mentor-mentee system throughout the programme. |

| Entry Requirements | QUALIFICATION MEDICAL AND DENTISTRY Faculty of Medicine Faculty of Dentistry Required subjects 3 subjects: a. Biology b. Chemistry c. Mathematics / Physics The General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level AAB or (UKM-UNPAD : BBB, ABC, AAC) International Baccalaureate Diploma 37 point overall (UKM-UNPAD : 34 point). Two(2) science subjects or a Higher Level Mathematics and one(1) Standard Level science subject. Score of 4 in Biology, Chemistry and Physics/Mathematics. The General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level Gred B in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics/Additional Mathematics and one(1) other subject. |
| English Requirement | Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) has established English language proficiency requirements for postgraduate applicants. These requirements vary depending on the program type and the test taken. For Master's programs (both Clinical and Non-Clinical in Research, Mixed, or Coursework Mode) and PhD programs, applicants must achieve a minimum score of 8 (low) on HEET, ?5.0 on MUET, 6.5 on IELTS, 79 on TOEFL iBT, 56 on Pearson PTE Academics, or 180-199 on the Cambridge English Qualification C1 Advanced. These requirements apply to all postgraduate programs listed in the table. |
