Description | Entomology is a field of science specializing in the study and research of all aspects related to insects. Its importance to humans and the global environment is significant because the world is increasingly borderless and sophisticated today, where humans can easily travel from one country to another, indirectly carrying harmful pests and disease-carrying insects with them. Furthermore, the impact of physical development, which directly alters ecosystems, landscapes, and insect habitats, often contributes to the decline in insect diversity, the loss of insect species sensitive to disturbances, and most importantly, encourages insects that initially could live in harmony with humans and their environment to a level that can disrupt human well-being. Therefore, it is the duty of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia to play a role in training and producing graduates at the Master of Science (Entomology) level who possess expert knowledge of the knowledge and problems related to insects. |
