| Description | Candidates enrolled in research mode will spend the majority of their study time on research activities. All candidates are required to attend and pass a Research Methods course at the beginning of their studies. A Malay Language course is also mandatory for all international students. For this mode, the teaching and learning methods used involve research-related activities such as conducting article reviews, designing and conducting experiments, data collection and analysis, decision making, thesis and manuscript writing, and presentations at seminars and conferences. |

| Entry Requirements | Applicants must possess a Master's Degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia or from another university recognized by the Senate; OR Other professional/vocational related qualifications or relevant experience equivalent to a Master's degree by the Senate; OR Currently enrolled in a Master's Degree research mode program at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and recommended by the relevant Graduate Studies Committee for a change to a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program with formal approval from the Senate; OR A First Class Honours Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of not less than 3.67 from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia or another university recognized by the Senate; OR Candidates registered in a Master of Medical Science research mode may change their registration to a Doctor of Philosophy based on decisions reached and criteria recognized by the Senate. |
